“Life begets life. Energy creates energy. It is by spending oneself that one becomes rich.” – Sarah Bernhardt
I do not have terribly a lot of talent when it comes to music, painting or any sort of classic art form, but I have a need to create. My chosen tools to do so are a keyboard to write on digital paper or my camera to express myself through photography.
Sarah’s quote above is profound as it is beautiful. Just the other day, I was happy to learn that someone was able to solve an issue they had at work from a talk that my wife and I gave last year. It served as an example to me that when you put yourself out there, when you write or create, others can benefit. I do not want to be remembered as someone who consumed everything in sight. My intent is to be a good steward of what I have and give back to the world. All of the time I have spent gathering knowledge can do no good if I take it silently to my grave.
As I write, I am encouraged to keep doing so. The more I write, the easier it gets and I get to scratch that itch of doing something creative. Looking back over my blog, I’m happy with how far I have consistently progressed this year in adding content to the site. I have gotten in such a rhythm, that I have began writing for my other sites. The more I write the better I will get a it.
The desire to write grows with writing. – Desiderius Erasmus
This is true, I do look forward to writing more now than I have ever done before. Really, the more you do anything, the easier and natural it gets. A lot of negative feelings such as self-doubt begin to peel away over time. Now that this is becoming second nature, I feel comfortable with growing and taking on bigger challenges.
