Blue Tool
April 10th, 2008 by rsanderlinWalking into work today behind this gentleman who barely looks old enough to drive, is walking through the door with one of those blue tooth headsets in his ear. It reminded me that how much I needed to get on here and write about this today.![]()
For those that are not familiar with blue tooth technology it’s essentially the modern day replacement for infrared. Primarily used by computer devices for short range data transmissions that do not require line of sight to communicate. Urban Dictionary defines “Blue Tool” as a person who uses their blue tooth headset when unnecessary, or leaves attached in ear when not having a conversation.
These people that walk around at work, the mall, car shows, theme parks or anywhere there are lots of other people with these things in their ear! I even saw a couple walking around hand in hand with matching blue tooth headsets out at a car meet one time.
Truly important people don’t walk around with these things in their ears. Truly important people have phones answered for them. If they do happen to use a blue tooth headset, it’s because they are probably driving in a car which still you shouldn’t be talking on the phone anyways.
So please, if you are one of these people that walk around with a false sense of self importance, take the damn thing out of your ear when you are not using it. Also the beauty of holding a phone up to your ear when you are talking on it lets other people know that you are engaged in a phone call and is a universal signal to leave you alone until you remove that phone from your ear and are now available to engage in normal human conversation.
